two catty bitches hangin' out on the edge of the world

Lestallum is every bit the bore she'd assumed it would be, but as spots to lay low go, it's not the worst she's ever chosen. It's more or less an ideal spot for a working vacation; just active enough to blend into a crowd with enough through-moving traffic from travelers to remain unremarkable if she chooses her marks correctly. It's slower business than in a bustling city like Insomnia, and the takes aren't quite as big as they might be in Altissia, but it's enough to keep her content and housed comfortably in the Leville.

The scenery isn't so bad either, Luka decides, taking a long sip of her too-sweet coffee and leaning back in her chair to watch the throngs of people making their way through the marketplace. It's busy enough that she's gone almost unnoticed, which bodes well for the rest of her day, as long as everything else goes according to plan. Lucky for certain pirates, it usually does.

Usually.

All he had to do today was wait. Lestallum wasn’t exactly his favorite place to loiter (or the fair country of Lucis in general), but he had more plans to set into motion. At this point in time, the young King should be arriving in the city by day’s end, with his little entourage. Which, by all intents in purposes, should end his stay in this all too “shabby chic” city by the next morning.

Still, he was playing the waiting game. While Ardyn literally did have the patience of a saint, it didn’t mean that he didn’t get bored. Right now, he was sat at a table at the tiny little food vendor shoved in the corner of the marketplace, a plate of uneaten skewers sitting in front of him, and his eyes roaming the crowd perusing the various vendors’ wares.

His eyes caught a flash of yellow amongst the crowd—an odd choice of color in a drab sea of gray and black utility suits. It was a girl, and he watched as she expertly slid a wallet out of an unsuspecting worker’s pocket.

How interesting. Ardyn grinned. Why not have a little fun for a bit?

He tossed some coin on the table as payment, and casually made his way over to the girl, watching as she swiped yet another wallet. Truth be told, he found this rather amusing, and the lack of ruckus in the crowd told him her victims were none the wiser. When he finally caught up with her, he stood behind her to watch her snatch up her prize, and return the empty wallet to its rightful owner.

In a voice loud enough for her to hear, he said, “Bravo, young lady.”
